Nigerian Tribune (Ibadan) - A serving state commisioner for environment and water resources under the administration of current Oyo State Government, Alhaji Majekodunmi Aborode, got the jungle style of justice which is now synonymous with the Nigeria Police force, on Saturday while according to him, he was performing his legal duties. This for sure can only happen in Nigeria!
Although, the Police force has a different version of the what really took place, the commissioner was said to have been beaten by an Inspector of Police for “obstructing justice” being performed on his [commisioner’s orderly]. As if the street justice was not enough, the commisioner and his orderly were also detained by the branch police DPO for about 5 hours.

I recently came across a video documentary on Mona’s weblog. It was a very interesting video exposé about one of the greatest cities in the world - Lagos. The documenatry showcased everything from population, security, tradition, governance, area boys, corruption, and the funny side of Lagos.
You need to see it to believe. Click on the video to play.

Not sure if this is a joke or just a publicity stunt by the powers that be in Nigeria. I just read a news item from ThisDay newspaper that the SSS just aborted an Al-Qaeda [planned] attack in Nigeria. If this is true, then it will be interested to know what is attractive to the terrorists in Nigeria - could it be the US interest in Nigeria? or is it the Oil?
