OBJ: I am Adedibu’s disciple

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Former President Olusegun ObasanjoOta - FORMER President Olusegun Obasanjo and Peoples Democratic party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BOT) chairman on Saturday in Ota publicly declared that “inasmuch as Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu’s kind of politics brings results, I will continue to be his political disciple.”

Chief Obasanjo made the declaration shortly after a closed door meeting he had with the Ibadan-born politician, Oyo Sate deputy governor, Alhaji Taofeek Arapaja, Senator Gbenga Babalola, Senator Teslim Folarin, Gen. Raji Rasaki, Azeem Gbolarunmi and the Lagos State executive committee of the party led by the former deputy national chairman of the party, Chief Olabode George.

Adedibu arraigned, faces trial in Abuja

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Chief Lamidi Adedibu in CourtNigerian justice at his very best! The Inspector General of Police (Acting) had to trick Chief Adedibu to Abuja before he could be arraigned! This is absurd and shows the man is truely above the law in Ibadan. Shame on the Police force.

Its also funny that the prosecuting counsel is asking the courts “to help the Police extract a promise from him to keep the peace”

EFCC ready to probe OBJ: Truth or Friction?

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Former President Olusegun ObasanjoThe Punch newspaper is reporting that the EFCC will soon commence the investigation of Former President Olusegun obasanjo (OBJ) for alleged corruption and enrichment during his 8 years tenure as president of the Federal Republic. That makes me laugh.

I dont know where in the history of Nigeria, the “creation” can stand up to the “creator” and succeed. Take Oyo State for example, Adedibu has single handedly installed several Governors for the State and everytime any of them attempt to look him in the face, he gets kicked off, no question asked. Ok, back to EFCC and OBJ. It is inconceivable that anyone will think that any serious probe will ever take place. Taking a deep look at the story itself, the head of the EFCC’s general investigation, Mr. Umar Sanda stated and I quote from the Punch news source…

Is Adedibu really the PDP’s Father…Gospel according to OBJ

Monday, November 12th, 2007

After a long protracted silence, former President Olusegeun Aremu Obasanjo (OBJ) finally broke the camel’s back and guess what his first public statement was? …..”Chief Lamidi Adedibu is “the only father of the party”.

Despite the press that has trailed Adedibu in the media of late, and all the violence and loss of precious and innocent lifes in Oyo State, most of which were credited to or have the influence of the aged politician, I am amazed why OBJ did not see any thing contrary in Oyo State during and after his tenure. I am particularly interested in why “Baba” did not condone any “nonsense” in other states but allowed things to go unchecked in Oyo State. I personally have great respect for OBJ despite all criticism trailing his 8yr tenure as President, but when it comes to issue like being bias, I am concerned about his reputation in that regard.
