Late Mr. Olayinka Babasanya CraigMinnesota (USA) - After a two-year battle with cancer, ace broadcaster and sports journalist, Mr. Yinka Craig, has passed on at the age of 60.

A statement posted to his website by one of his sons, Lamide, said Craig died at 6am on Tuesday at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, United States.

The statement reads, “It is with a heavy heart, and joy at God’s perfect will that I announce the passing on to glory of my father, teacher, mentor and friend, Mr. Olayinka Babasanya Craig, who went to be with the Lord at 6.00am this (Tuesday) morning.

Alade Aromire, popular Nigerian actor, is dead

Late Alade AromireLagos - The curtain fell suddenly, finally, on one of the leading lights and pioneer of Yoruba home video industry, Muyideen Alade Aromire. Aromire was the first Nigerian to own a vernacular pay television channel, Yotomi TV.

He died on Friday night at the Soleye Hospital, Ikeja, after he was reportedly hit by a trailer along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Aromire was said to be returning from the site of his new house along the expressway, which he had planned to move into on July 15.

Late Veteran Highlife Musician, Oliver De CoqueLagos - Veteran highlife musician,  Sunday Akanite, popularly known as Oliver De Coque has died at a Lagos Hospital over the weekend. Although cause of his sudden death was not disclosed, but sources close to the family of the highlife musician said he had not been feeling well for some time now.

According to his son, his father was hale and hearty. “My father was not sick, he said he was going to rest and that was all. I still cannot believe that he is dead.”

Evangelist Sunny Okosun passes on at 61

Late Musician, Evangelist Sunny OkosunsAce Musician turned evangelist, Sonny Okosuns, has passed on to glory at 61. He died Saturday in Howard Hospital, Washington, D.C, after a long running battle against cancer of the colon.

Several Nigerian musicians such as Onyeka Onwenu, Oliver De-Coque, Fatai Rolling Dollar, Prince Wadada, and Dele Abiodun, all paid glowing tribute to the icon.
Known for his unrepentant defense of the June 12, 1993 mandate of the late Social Democratic Party presidential candidate, Chief M.K.O Abiola, Evangelist Okosuns was also an outspoken supporter of the last Chief Olusegun Obasanjo administration.
