RCCG plants seven parishes per day in one year
Sango-Ota (Ogun) - The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, planted an average of seven branches of the church per day in the past one year and also spread its tentacles to five nations per day.
Disclosing this outstanding statistics, was the General Overseer of the church, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, at the ongoing 56th annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God holding in Ota.
Also at the convention, not fewer than five people who were once restricted to their wheel chairs and strung to their crutches now walk around as they have finally received healings.
There was also a commendable increase in the number of babies delivered as at the Friday night of the Holy Ghost vigil, increasing to 59 comprising of 23 boys and 36 girls.
The programme, which was broadcast live all over the world was attended by several millions of people from different parts of the world. The Friday pro-gramme was the most crucial moment of the one- week-long convention.
Over 500 women, who were once barren but were prayed for at the programme two years ago and last year, came with their babies to also give thanks to God.
One of the women, who was barren for 25 years until she was 54, had the touch of God, conceived and brought her baby to the camp.
While speaking at the event, Pastor E.A Adeboye, the General Overseer, disclosed that the September regular monthly Holy Ghost programme would be specially dedicated to those trusting God for the fruit of the womb.
Furthermore, he disclosed that God Had told him that the next Holy Ghost night which is tagged “It is your turn to Laugh” would also be special for everyone who needs divine touch regarding any form of barenness.
Meanwhile, in readiness for the annual congress of the church which is scheduled for 15th – 20th December, 2008 tagged “Joy Unspeakable” the General Overseer informed those in attendance that God told him to extend the auditorium.
“When I told some people that God said I should cover the Holy Ghost Congress Arena, to them, it was like madness. But today, it has become a reality in addition to some infrastructural development that could be noticed around the camp. I want you all to pray for me,” he said.
