Ghana - Nigeria “Chicken” Eagles preliminary round conquerer, Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire, tasted defeat in a terrible way, as they were totally punished by the Pharaohs of Egypt in the first Semi-Final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations soccer tournament, holding in Ghana.

The Elephants were handed a 1 - 4 defeat by the Pharaoh before the referee blew the final whistle to end what will have been a disastrous outing for the Elephants. Although the Ivorians dominated possession and had numerous chances, the Egyptians’ quick counter-attack enabled them to score four goals from Ahmed Fathi, Amr Zaki (2) and Mohamed Aboutraika. Kader Keita scored The only goal for the Elephants.

            In the second semi-finals, Cameroon triumphed over the host nation, Ghana by a single goal to set up an epic final against the defending champions, Pharaohs of Egypt. The only goal of the match came in the second half through Alain Nkong and Cameroon had to survive a lot of pressure from the Ghanaians late on in addition to a late red card for Andre Bikey for pushing a Ghanaian first aid worker away from the injured Rigobert Song (Man of the Match), as the medical officials fought with the Cameroon team doctor over whether they could stretch Song off the field, who they believed was deliberately waisting time by faking injury.

Cameroon had earlier lost 2 - 4 to Egypt in their opening group game. The final game will be played in Accra on Sunday, February 10. Kick off time is 1645 GMT (10.45 AM CST).
