CNN (Texas) - A Nigerian bride, Chidi Ogbuta of Allen, Texas has made what seems like a world record by actually using a wedding cake, that is full size of herself.
Chidi whose childwood dream was to have a doll made in her likeness, was able to come close to that when on her wedding day, a personalized wedding cake, in her full potrait, was made available to her guests to consume. The wedding cake was a handiwork of two designers, a cake maker and an artist.
This story has generated a lot of buzz among CNN online readers, with several “not so great” comments ranging from abuses to nagative criticisms.
While people have a right to freedom of speech, it is also equally true that there is freedom of expression -Â be it designing a cake in one’s own potrait or spending several hundreds or thousands of dollars to create one. Criticisms like this are unwelcome when someone becomes creative. Afterall, she nor her husband, never begged anyone for the money used for this purpose. One will recall that at a time in Nigeria, there were some people that had a full time job of criticizing anything good- from people riding expensive cars, to living in luxurious houses.
The point here is that Chidi should atleast be left alone to enjoy the most memorable day of her life - her wedding day. She probably has herself to blame for the criticism by posting her story and pictures online, but afterall like the biblical parable - let him that has no sin, cast the first stone!

its no one’s business..its here day..let her enjoy it..when you buy stuff do u consider the boy under the bridge???no!!so remove the log before trying to remove someone else’s speck..nigerians and their self righteous judgmental attitudes..No one knows how long she saved for the cake so just be happy for people and don’t get judgmental pls!!

it is kinda creepy cos they cut into a cake that looks like the bride and ate it also. She has the right to do whatever she wanted, it’s her day.

This is for critics! stop poking ur nose where is not needed. In Heavens name, its her day and her money. The only one that had the right to critizise that dream of hers is her husband, as Nigerians we should be happy for yet another achievement in the world book of record by a creative Nigerian. e no easy girl! u try!
