US-based Nigerian doctor discovers cure for sickle cell anaemia

A US-based Nigerian medical doctor has found a cure for treating sickle cell anaemia, based on a special food supplement from yam called Dioscovite.

Dr. Orji Agbai, who hails from Ebonyi State, submitted that Dioscovite is a patented dietary supplement for sickle cell anaemia, discovered by means of electron microscopy which he said shows that the active ingredient completely prevents sickling of red blood cells in the test tube. The US-based medical doctor confirmed that “Dioscovite has safely prevented sickle cell painful crisis for 16 years, saved lives that had been given up for dead, by raising the hemoglobin (blood count) from 2.0 to 7.3g per cent, energizing the body, normalizing enlarged liver swollen abdomen, swollen hands and feet, and stopping painful sickle cell crisis that plagued a patient for ten months”

His study into the treatment of the deadly ailment started when he observed that Sickle Cell patients who were asymptomatic in Africa and Jamaica often suffer severe pain crisis.  He found nutritional differences.  Foods that are eaten in the USA is very different from what is found in Africa so he began to link it to diet.  Dr. Agbai found that African and Jamaican people consumed many foods rich in a natural substance called thiocyanate, an anti-sickling agent found in many African staple foods.

Dr. Agbai holds a Doctor of Naturopathy from the Clayton College of Natural Healing in Birmingham, Alabama and a PhD in biochemistry and nutritional science from Clayton University in Clayton, Missouri. He is the founder of the Natural Health Research Institute (NHRI).
