IBB may soon replace Yar’Adua as President
SaharaReporters - Believe it or otherwise, there are news making the rounds that former military dictator and Nigerian Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) may be getting ready to replace current President, Musa Yar’adua as the “democratic” President of Nigeria.
…And this may not be a fairy tale or an fringe of the imagination. Sources from close to the Saharareporters, a US-based online news media, indicates that several ongoing plans are currently in place to make sure that IBB take over from Yar’Adua in the very near future. Those actively involved in the plans are ofcourse, IBB himself, President Yar’Adua (Yes!) and immediate past president, Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ).
The plan is hinged on several factors as reported by saharareporters, and this includes;
- The almost certain revocation of the April 21 presidential election by the election tribunal
- The decision of Yar’adua not to contest the tribunal decision if his election is overturned
- Yar’Adua’s failing health and recent dire prognosis by the German doctors during his recent visit for health check in Germany
- The pact between OBJ and IBB about installing each other as presidents (Remember a similar pact between IBB and Abacha with Shonekan as the guinea pig?)
- Yar’Adua’s disinterest in being the President from the beginning
- IBB’s sudden “unexplained” withdrawal from the April 12 presidential race
All of these so-called facts add credence to the above. Is Nigeria going back to being an oligachy?
