Bon Voyage - Delta Airlines commence non-stop flight to Lagos

The Punch (Lagos) - One of US largest airlines, Delta Airlines, has concluded all Delta Airlinesarrangements to commence daily non-stop trips in the very lucrative Atlanta-Lagos route. According to a release by the airline’s Vice-President, Sales and Public Affairs for Europe, the Middle East and Africa of the airline, Mr. Frank Jahangir, the inaugural flight from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos (MMA) and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Atlanta (ATL), is scheduled for December 4, 2007.

If all goes well according to plan, this will be a very welcome development for folks living in Atlanta, one of the largest states with Nigerians in the USA as well as those planning to immigrate to the USA from Nigeria.

Although, Delta Airlines have had its share of problems facing most US airlines, having recently come out of bancruptcy and notorious for bad customer service, baggage losses*, etc, the joy of having to travel non-stop from the US to Nigeria is something to look forward to, even for those of us living outside of Atlanta.

* Yours truely was a victim of Delta Airline’s inefficiency and bad customer service. Travelled to Atlanta for a week on business with the airline misplacing my baggage for the entire week, without any form of compensation and terrible nonchalant attitute of the management.
