FG budgets N2.3million daily for refreshment
Yes! this is too true to believe, but it is indeed part of the 2008 bugetary proposal submitted by Aso-Rock to the legislative body for review and approve. While several nigerians are roaming the street looking for food to eat, our dear presidency is proposing to spend N2.3million daily for refreshments.
This is one of the many issues we are facing in Nigeria. Yes, I agree that the presidency receives hundreds, if not thousands of visitors daily. That is part of everyday duty of governnment. However, the question is how many of those visitors have genuine business to conduct. Praise singers, unnecessary courtesy visits, lobbyists…the list is endless. Maybe the presidency can reduce this budget demand by ensuring that ony those that need to be in Aso Rock are “fed”…
