Adedibu arraigned, faces trial in Abuja

Chief Lamidi Adedibu in CourtNigerian justice at his very best! The Inspector General of Police (Acting) had to trick Chief Adedibu to Abuja before he could be arraigned! This is absurd and shows the man is truely above the law in Ibadan. Shame on the Police force.

Its also funny that the prosecuting counsel is asking the courts “to help the Police extract a promise from him to keep the peace”

I wonder if that applies to every other citizen that the police is prosecuting. The counsel also goes on to acknowledge that “…The accused person is a well-known and formidable politician in Nigeria. In some parts of this country, his words are like laws. Based on this, I want him to be granted bail with reasonable sureties and also extract a bond from him to be of good behaviour for one year.

“That one year is to enable us conclude our investigation and we believe that our fear of a breakdown of law and order will not happen.” (end of quote)

So the question is what happens after one year of good behaviour? The old man can continue business as usual? Maybe its time President Yar’dua come out and tell/educate us on “Due Process”

I wonder what people think about this?
